<![CDATA[Condemnation of the Coup in Istkalen]]>"This is of course uncharacteristic, but I have no desire to further support Istkalen's Head of State, who, based upon her last call to me, appears to have suffered a mental breakdown of extreme proportions. However, upon presentation of this legislation, I will be resigning as to become a hermit. Thank you, in advance, for your understanding. I see no reason to further elaborate on the reasoning of this proposal, as it should be obvious to everyone."

1. Declarations

  1. The European Union, recognizing the total breakdown of any semblance of human rights, both civil and political in nature, in Istkalen, as well as its violent actions towards other member-states of this Union, hereby condemns the regime of Beate Meinl-Reisinger, which gained its power from a brazenly illegal self-coup conducted on the 12th of April.

  2. The European Union and its member-states, recognizing the illegality of the present government, the process in which it seized its current power, the reality that it is conducting actions of a genocidal nature, and the fact that it does not hold full control over its own territory, are prohibited from recognizing the regime of Beate Meinl-Reisinger.

  3. All representation sent by the regime of Beate Meinl-Reisinger to the European Council is hereby void. No representation of said regime can or will be allowed as legitimate or allowed into this chamber as a result of its illegality and danger to this Union.

2. Sanctions

  1. All agreements of any nature between the regime of Beate Meinl-Reisinger and the European Union or its constituent member-states, unless if for the express purposes of the surrender or dissolution of said regime, are hereby void. No agreements of any nature may be made with said regime whatsoever.

  2. Agreements made with the entity known as the Federation of Istkalen prior to the coup of Beate Meinl-Reisinger that continue to involve the regime of Beate Meinl-Reisinger as a participant are hereby void.

  3. All goods of a purpose not essential to the basic survival of the people of Istkalen may not be provided in any way, regardless of purpose, to the regime of Beate Meinl-Reisinger or the territory it controls.

3. On Alternative Governments

  1. In the case that a government with popular legitimacy forms in the territory known as Istkalen, said government is permitted to send representation to the European Council.

To obfuscate what measures member states should take against Istkalen with a separate condemnation motion would be completely counterproductive. The Empire of Inimicus will thus vote against this motion, at least until such a time as the Sanctioning Act process is complete.
